Oh look! Stencils!

^^^Based on this drawing^^^

Something graphic designer-y I did! I know this is pretty lame but still, it's something. Imma make schtickers out of this too! :D

I really hope someone uses this design

Think Outside The Box pt. 3

So, my "Think Outside The Box" box seemed to have been untouched for about 3 days before it was removed. Though in retrospect I think a problem might've been that from afar it looked more like litter than art, so it didn't draw much attention. Maybe some joggers or people walking by acknowledged it but no one "left a message" as I expected. I'm probably going to recreate this eventually, and correct this by painting it a bright color or something of that nature.

By the way, if you're reading this and interested in it at all I encourage you to do the same.

Think Outside The Box pt. 2

And here it is. I'll come back later this afternoon and check on it. Hopefully someone has acknowledged it in some positive or curious way i.e. Left a message. However, I don't doubt someone may have taken it off and put it in the trash. That would've been quite mean though.

Guerrilla Advertising: Dollar Bills?

Has anyone else thought of doing this? Writing down your company's URL or something on a
five dollar bill and buying something with it? Thus putting it into circulation guaranteeing a number of people will see it over time? Hmm..? Please discuss (to those few that have seen this page so far).

Think Outside The Box pt. 1

HELLO there to those that may have stumbled
upon this humble, little nook
nestled, cozily
deep within
the
interweb

Unlike many other blogs, I am not an idiot mumbling to himself oblivious of the apathy of others towards them and their blogs. This blog has a somewhat justifiable, minutely important purpose that is self-serving (attempting to reduce level obscurity as an artist) as well as a service to others ((hopefully) entertainment? provoking interest? sparking creativity?), and I am aware of the apathy of others towards this blog. My goal is to produce interesting art, show it off and hopefully obtain the attention and fondness of someone else. Though I presume that someone else would be either a flaaaming hipster, or one of my friends to whom I have personally introduced this blog.

Anyhoo, this is basically my first, (self-proclaimed) official/formal piece of "guerrilla" art that I started and finished today.

It's called Think Outside The Box, quite obviously why.

Later this morning (I forgot I'm supposed to measure time so it's 1:15 a.m at the moment)
I will tape it onto the top of a wooden fence by a park in a nearby suburban neighborhood. There should hopefully be quite a few joggers and other passerby that notice it.

As you can see it's a plain cardboard box with a piece of paper cut into the shape of a cloud with the word "Think" on it on both sides. It's very simple and didn't really stretch my artistic ability but it's a start. In the other pic you can see that I put "Leave A Message" above an empty space on the box. This is because I felt it needed something else and it makes use of virtually the rest of the white space on the box. Plus, it's now interactive, though I doubt someone will actually leave a message, the option to cordially do so is interesting. In another corner of the box I wrote "Hi, my name is Bartholomeugh (Bartholomew), I am a guerrilla artist, and I encourage you to think outside the box". Again, I felt it needed something else, and something more informative/clarifying., as well as a signature. I don't know why I chose Bartholomeugh (which I didn't spell right, no offense by the way if your name is Bartholomew) but if I'm going to have a pseudonym I don't think I want it to be Bartholomew. Something more like "Nighthawk" or "Warrior-X".The "X" makes it sound cooler.

So, I will put this piece up, take pictures, and report back.
